Why ECLA? Amongst other things, the high academic standard to which it holds its students. I was also intrigued by the sort of people this kind of institution would attract -- so far, I haven't been disappointed.

I studied Visual Arts before I came to ECLA and really enjoyed the theory and philosophy of art. ECLA has what I consider the perfect approach to these areas and Berlin is one of the best places to study this.

I chose ECLA because I was looking for a rigorous course in the underpinnings of Western thought; such a concentrated parcours I had found in no other single institution.

I was a bit confused on what and where I should study, so my art history instructor recommended I look into ECLA. I viewed the website, and since she gave me her recommendation, I decided it was interesting enough to apply.

The choice was very simple: I tried to find at least one institution that would be similar to ECLA and failed. With its great variety of courses, small seminar groups, and a wonderful campus ECLA seemed a perfect place to study.

I chose ECLA because it offers the possibility of experiencing a very liberal approach to education and of engaging in the exploration of some important philosophical issues, which are always relevant both in academic and everyday life.

I was going to apply to Freie Universität, also in Berlin, but then I saw an ECLA poster and checked out the website. After reading the description, I immediately decided to apply, because it sounded almost too good to be true.
