Martin Gak

Martin Gak was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and studied Philosophy in the US. He received his PhD from The New School for Social Research, where he wrote his dissertation about the ethical history of the concept of infinity.
Currently, the focus of his work is metaethics and different issues in applied normativity. His areas of research include the normative aspects of design, the neurological grounds of moral adjudication and a variety of topics in the history of philosophy with particular focus on 20th century continental philosophy.
He joins ECLA this year and runs the Centro de Estudios Filosóficos y Fenomenológicos Avanzados in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Besides his academic work, he is a regular contributor of opinion pieces about politics and cultural topics for Argentine newspapers and he maintains the blog The Radical Secularist.
